Honest n=1 experiments on myself, and what actually happened.

I'm Ashley, a cognitive psychologist. I test health and life hacks on myself, measure everything, and publish what actually happened. Including when nothing happened.

Current experiment

Less phone, more drive?

Starts Oct 26 Day 0 / 49
Baseline6 weeks with the ruleResults

The rule: no phone before 10:00, grayscale mode all day. Every day I score my mood and drive (1 to 10), log screen time and measure HRV with a Polar H10.

Coherent breathing, 8 weeks

Daily breathing at my resonance frequency (6.0 breaths per minute). The literature promised a lot. My HRV barely moved. I wrote up why I think the studies oversell it.

Incomplete

Fixing tech neck, 8 weeks

Daily posture exercises with a 3D body scan at the start. I never did the end scan, so there's no result. Lesson: plan the final measurement before you start.
